Health and safety update

Queensland Museum Network | COVID-19 RESPONSE

Following the Prime Minister’s announcements on 22 March 2020, after the meeting of National Cabinet, additional actions to support social distancing measures have been put in place to protect the Australian community. These restrictions include the closure of non-essential social venues from midday 23 March 2020.
For the safety of our community, Queensland Museum Network will temporarily close to the public from 12 noon on 23 March 2020 until further notice.

These locations include:

  • Queensland Museum (Brisbane)
  • The Workshops Rail Museum (Ipswich)
  • Cobb+Co Museum (Toowoomba)
  • Museum of Tropical Queensland (Townsville)

We would like to acknowledge the enormity of this global challenge and the uncertainty faced by each of us as individuals and as a community.

We continue to work closely with the Queensland Government to ensure the most appropriate response to COVID-19, and to follow all health advice from the Australian Government.

In the meantime, our online shop remains open and has plenty of things to keep you entertained at home.

We look forward to welcoming you back to your local museum when the time is right.

Meanwhile, we’ll update our online presence with news as it arises.

Stay safe, and we’ll see you soon.
